Hey everyone! my name is Cody Bruce, thank you so much for taking the time to view my page. First i would like to let everyone that this page is not made out of arrogence...it is made simply to gain ground in the community. As an up and coming Mixed Martial Artist i hope to become more well known with all of the fans in the united states.
I come from a small town in Kentucky called Brandenburg. I started out as a very accomplished wrestler while in high school winning many tournaments in the state... after high school i decided to try out this up and coming sport MMA that had seemed to become the craze. and i was hooked! Winning 5 of my first 6 fights utalizing my wrestling background i had gained in high school, then life took a drastic change of direction.. December of 2009 i was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure (kidney failure), because of this illness my heart flatlined twice in Mercy Hospital in Pitsburgh PA. Doctors could not find a reason for this to happen...but told me that i would be on dialosis the rest of my life and would never be able to compete again in the sport i had grown to love... but to their surprise Febuary 17th 2010 after only 3 months of dialosis i had made a full recovery from my illness and in march 2010 i started training again for my next mixed martial arts fight. Since then i have made a complete recovery and went from a simple wrestler to a full fledged mixed martial artist.
I now train under Chris Biddle (pro fighter) and Brown belt in judo, and Rock Cruz out of Louisville, Kentucky. He is Khun Khru under Grandmaster Surachai Sirisute, Muay Thai, USA Professional and Amaetuer Boxing Coach, First degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do... with this combination of coaches and my wonderful teamates from Brandenburg MMA, Baddog MMA, and 502 MMA i have put together a vicious mix of standup, and ground to go along with my wrestling background. Every fight i have been in there has been progression of each of these aspects of my game. and with these two amazing coaches and my teamates i will go deeper into the world of mixed martial arts and hope to one day perfect these arts under their watchful eyes.
I would like to thank my mother for supporting me through this journey in my life, as a single parent it was never easy but she always supported my wrestling and never missed a match and has continued with my MMA not missing a single fight, doing whatever it takes to be in my corner. I would like to thank all of my friends and family who have supported me along this journey and deff to my coaches and teamates who have helped me to develop these skills that i possess today, and a special thanks to my old wrestling coach Bob Davis for never letting me quit when i was down in wrestling and pushing me to be the absolute best i could be in every way, without you i would not be as mentally tough nor physically dominate as i am today... and lastly to Chris Biddle, without you i would not have the ability to do any of this. your the best man i know. Thank you all! Please follow me on this journey !!!God bless!!!!
